I am now using an Germany system,and I can't input Chinese.


1) Download kernel-source-2.4.20-8.i386.rpm from
http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/redhat/9/i386/kernel-source-2.4.20-8.i386.html

2) Download rhl-cg-en-9.pdf from http://www.redhat.com
This is the Customization Guide http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/
This contains instructions for how to re-build a Red Hat kernel.

3) Download sndconfig-0.70-2.src.rpm from http://linux.maruhn.com/sec/sndconfig.html

4) Manually apply wrdeiter's patch. [patch /usr/src/linux-2.4/drivers/pci/pci.ids instead of a '.h' file in the pci directory. The new lines look like:

24d0 82801EB ISA Bridge (LBC)
24d1 82801EB Serial ATA
24d2 82801EB USB (Hub #1)
24d3 82801EB SMBus
24d4 82801EB USB (Hub #2)
24d5 82801EB AC'97 Audio

Add after the ICH4 82801DB lines.

5) follow the Customization Guide's instructions to rebuild the kernel.

6) reboot system.

7) Run the sndconfig application. /usr/sbin/sndconfig

买一块CMI8738算了,能装的, 新的40块搞定. 我的一个同学的我帮他搞半天,烦死了. 就把我的CMI拔给他. 一下就装好了. 官方有Linux驱动下载

现在我想说的是,如果换一套OS确实会省很多时间,对不起.

我不知道OS是指什么。如果是指OPERATION SYSTEM的话，就算了。
我的电脑是LINUX / XP 双系统，在XP下当然没有问题。
我想，版主完全没有必要说：对不起。
装不装的成，这永远都不是最重要的。我只是学生而已(装它只是为了学习)。
重要的是，你们帮助我，支持我就够了。。。
