显卡驱动安装完成，但仍不能上到1024x768 ？

我系菜鸟一名
前几天刚装上Red Hat 9.0中文版
主机大概的配置 P42.8 Intel865G 集成显卡、声卡(DELL GX270原装机)
系统安装完成默认的显卡驱动是I810（不能上1024X768）
后来在这里搜索了一下驱动，找的是
    Intel 板载显卡驱动
    简短描述:

按照安装步骤 完成安装（在Failsafe下安装的）
但是仍然不能上到1024X768 察看一下显卡驱动 还是I810的 急啊！

探测到的显卡为852,好像我和上面的下的是一个驱动,但我装的时候kernel modules did not compile 显示是这个消息个,我装的时候

kernel-source 我安装了,但装的时候最先显示了个什么警告

按理说新的驱动安装结束后目录 /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers 中 " I810_drv.o " 应该会自动更改 , 但我装了几遍 还是这个文件 ??

有没有可能驱动被装乱的缘故，就像windows下面会出现的那种情况
第一次安装显卡的驱动是在RedHat 的图形界面下，是不是这个原因？

这个是在FailSafe下安装显卡驱动结束后
重新启动到图形界面下的情况
出现了一些信息，摘抄了几句
“(EE) I810(0):No video Bios modes for chosen depth”
“(EE) Screen(s) found but none haven usable configuration”

bios里用8m显存还是1m显存？调一下试试
推荐到dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots装一个新一点的。。intel官方那个太久了

在终端里运行 xvidtune

其中VToal是刷新率调整，调整用鼠标第三键调整（两键鼠标，左右同时按住）在Vertical Sync(Hz)显示调整后的刷新率。

如果大家选完分辨率和刷新率后屏幕偏右或偏左的话（这里不要调显示器，因为你回windows下就又偏了）在HTotal里按Left或Right进行调整（这里在调整后必须按text才能看到效果）

在刷新率和屏幕的调整完毕后，按show键，会在终端里显示以下格式的内容："1024x768" 94.50 1024 1088 1184 1376 768 769 772 808 +hsync +vsync

我们把它复制下来！打开/etc/x11/xf86config 文件（这里不能用双击打开，因为这样只能读不能写，必须用鼠标右键点击然后选择 打开用->Kwrite），找到 Section "Monitor" 一项！然后在Option "dpms"的后面加入modeline "1024x768" 94.50 1024 1088 1184 1376 768 769 772 808 +hsync +vsync （这里只是举个例子，你应该加入的是你自己的参数，就是你在按show键后显示的内容！不过modeline是必须的，你的参数应该在modeline后面。modeline后有一个空格）
最后你保存！重新启动就可以了！

我下载的是 i915-20050714-linux...>  是不是装错了了阿？

显存我调了8M
新的驱动安装后，不能进图形界面了，

显卡驱动段的driver 改成"vesa"

ps.下次修改的话，建议使用#注释原来的行，再下面加入一行，这样如果改得不对恢复起来就方便了。
