i feel linux is always too big.
Today, I have statistc there are how many files in linux system and in windows:
linux: 135530 files size: 2.3GB (magic linux)
windows: 13742 files size: 1.4GB (win 2K)
I wan't to know why there are so many files in linux system, nearly 10 times of windows, but its size not acheive 2 times of windows.
and there are not many tools in linux. Its strange.
i think there are two reasons:
1). in linux , there are many folders and sub-folders , and many of them only have several files or even one file. (why can't these file been put into one folder ?)
2). each program have many config files, the linux system also. so each file is very small, and i think these config files are too many and been put in too many different folders to be managed easyly,
for example, the config files related to net (hosts, hosts.allow, hosts.deny, hosts.conf, resolv.conf, net.conf, networks....) why can't be put into one file to configure the network ?
and i think that's one of the reason of why open a directory in graphic mode is much more slower than in windows.
my SCIM is broken, can't be changed into wubi, and other input mothed have been deleted by me. |
